Meanwhile, the government of Osun state did not give any comments on her whereabouts until Wednesday, when the death rumour started making the round.

Gboyega Labiran, special a$$istant to the deputy governor on media and public relations, debunked the rumour, saying Tomori was alive and absolutely healthy.

“Contrary to rumours making the rounds about the state of health of Osun deputy governor, Mrs Titi Laoye Tomori, it has been officially confirmed that she is as fit as a fiddle and presently enjoying a very sound health,” he said.

According to Labiran, the deputy governor officially secured an approval to proceed on annual leave. He added that he was in regular telephone contact with his boss.

The spokesman a$$ured concerned people that Tomori would soon be back in the state and return to work.

Earlier this year, local people were shocked following the news that one of the special advisers to Governor Rauf Aregbesola was arrested. Bode Olugbore was reportedly apprehended over the death of his girlfriend, Miss Kemi Arobieke.
